I'm sorry - I hope it's not too hot without A/C. I guess you all ate any ice cream?
As a kid we once lost power for 5 days. (lived near Seattle & it snowed w/ bad wind.) That was an experience - it was fun to remember, though, after it was all over. Kind of like camping inside the house.
This muthafucker (otherwise known as Hurricane Elvis) cut power to my house for 7 days (most of those pictures are within a mile of my house, though we just got a bunch of crap in our yard and lost a couple of shingles). The guy that was my best man lost power for 13 days, had it come on for two, then it was off again for three more. The last three were worse. Some people were without power for longer. And it is fucking hot and fucking humid here.
Thers: If you don't already have one, this might be a good excuse to buy a generator. You wouldn't be able to run A/C or anything, but you could do a light, a box fan, and your fridge.
